Everything You Need To Know About The BEST Roatan Cruise Excursion

☀️ Cruise Day 4 took us to paradise—Roatán, Honduras—and we booked one of the island’s most talked-about excursions: the Tabyana Beach Break! So, is it worth your time and money? We’re sharing all the details you need to know before booking this Caribbean beach escape.

🚌 Getting There: Easy, Breezy Start to the Day

Our Royal Caribbean excursion started with an 8:15 AM meetup in the Royal Theater on Deck 5 of Harmony of the Seas. With group stickers in hand (shoutout to Group 33!), we boarded the shuttle for a scenic 25-minute ride to Tabyana Beach. The process was super organized through the Royal Caribbean app—zero stress. There are plenty of shuttles, and you won’t have to worry about the logistics. This is a huge plus for anyone who doesn’t want to mess with Taxi’s and public transit in a different country. Though we’ve explored outside of the cruise lines on our own and found it rewarding, this time we opted for the full cruise line-organized experience.

🏖️ First Impressions of Tabyana Beach

We were immediately wowed by the white sandcrystal-clear water, and plenty of beach chairs. With only one cruise ship in port, the beach felt uncrowded and relaxing. Security staff and friendly servers were everywhere, and we felt totally safe and welcomed. Now our experience is our own but as YouTubers we carry a ton of equipment with us while we filmed. Multiple cameras, tripods, microphones, etc. So the fact that we felt safe leaving our belongings at the chairs while swimming should at least give those without so much stuff some sense of security. Now you are in a different country so be smarter than us and don’t carry so much stuff with you. They do have lockers should you need to lock up valuables and money.

🍽️ Food & Drinks at Tabyana Resort

Our package included a buffet-style lunch with island barbecue, rice and beans (so good!), burgers, and more. While Carnival Cruise Line guests had food delivered to their chairs, Royal Caribbean guests headed to the buffet. Either way—it hit the spot. The food was good and offered something for everyone. If you want to try out some local flavors they had grilled BBQ chicken and pulled pork. Also the typical American excursion food of hamburgers and hot dogs. Nothing was overpowering or offensive in flavor even for the pickiest eaters in our group.

🐠 Water, Snorkeling & Beach Vibes

The water was cool and refreshing with a soft, sandy bottom—no rocky surprise here! Snorkeling was available for an extra fee, and there’s even a coral reef just offshore. Vendors do walk the beach, but a polite “no thanks” and they move along. No pressure. The beach is clean and we really enjoyed the swimming area. We didn’t need water shoes which was a great touch. Sometimes these beach excursions will have a beach area that is not well maintained but we found Tabyana to be clean, clear and well kept.
